8th Annual Women’s Health Study Day now available to stream
will present on Firing blanks – modern management of the male infertility patient.
Jas Kalsi is an established Consultant Urological surgeon and accredited Andrologist.
He graduated from UCL medical school in 1997 with honours. He then trained on the Imperial rotation in London before completing a fellowship in male infertility and sexual dysfunction at The Institute of urology, London. His MD thesis investigated the pathophysiology of smooth muscle dysfunction in the male genitalia.
Mr Kalsi has been a consultant at Frimley Health in Berkshire and Surrey since 2010 and is an honorary Consultant at Imperial College Healthcare in London. He is a national expert in male infertility, male sexual and genital conditions (andrology) and is a specialist in the use of microsurgery (vas reversal, varicocele and sperm retrieval) especially in high risk and hard to treat cases. He also works at The Beaconsfield Clinic, The Lister Hospital and Thames Valley Fertility.
He is among a very limited group of micro surgeons in the UK who can perform the technique of sperm retrieval from the testes called micro-dissection TESE (m-TESE) which results in a higher success rate of positive sperm retrieval whilst minimizing the amount of tissue taken and potentially damage to the testis. He also has performed amongst the highest number of microsurgery procedures for the treatment of varicocele (microsurgical varicocele ligation) in the UK.
He has a very strong research background and has also authored many pioneering peer reviewed journal articles and several chapters regarding treatments for male infertility. He is also dedicated to teaching and training and runs RCS Basic surgical skills course, was a Foundation training programme director for 5 years and was course director for the Postgraduate diploma in Urology.
