This 5 hour seminar explores the storage, administration and disposal of medicines. This course covers:
- Understand the Nursing & Midwifery Council standards for medicine management
- Understand the procedures and guidelines for the storage, administration, disposal and recording of medicines
- How to find out about certain medicines
- Understanding drug error and near miss reporting
- Awareness of the different drugs used in fertility medicine
- Competence is describing known side effects to the patient
- Support patients and their partners in understanding their drug regime
- Support junior members of your team in understanding fertility drugs
- Liaise with appropriate drug companies.
After watching the seminar, attendees are asked to complete an evaluation in order to receive their certificate of attendance worth 5 CPD points.
This course is ideal for newly qualified nurses or experienced nurses who are new to fertility. This course is also useful for experienced nurses to highlight gaps in knowledge or for nurses who wish to progress to management or advanced practitioner level.
