Online women’s health study day

We are delighted to be the media partner for the upcoming Women’s Health Study Day! The event is organised by the Fertility Team at West Herts Hospital NHS Trust and Herts Fertility. This virtual study takes place on Saturday 26 September 2020. The study day is aimed at doctors, nurses, embryologists, midwives, trainees, GP’s and all other healthcare professionals working in women’s healthcare.

Dr. James Barrett, Lead Clinician, Gender Identity Clinic, London – Transgender Fertility

We are really pleased to welcome Dr. James Barrett as one of our key speakers for the event. Dr. Barrett will deliver a fascinating presentation on transgender fertility and examine all aspects of the patient journey through various stages of transition and explain how this affects all healthcare professionals delivering assisted reproduction.

Dr Barrett originally trained as a liaison psychiatrist but these days works exclusively as an adult gender healthcare consultant. He has worked in this field for 35 years and over that time assessed about 15,000 patients. He was the Editor and predominant author of the first UK textbook on this subject and more recently is co-author of Trans and Non-Binary Gender Healthcare, published this year.

Aside from having children, he claims no particular expertise in fertility matters!
