Dr. Marie D. Werner

Dr. Marie D. Werner is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and a High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director. She completed her Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at RMANJ in the Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson fellowship program, where she had the privilege of training in clinical medicine, molecular genetics and embryology. Dr. Werner completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Medical Center where she served as the administrative chief resident. She obtained her B.A. from Boston College in 2004 and her M.D. from New Jersey Medical School in 2008.

Dr. Werner has led two large randomized control trials investigating the optimal media formulation for embryo culture and the use of next-generation sequencing for pre-implantation genetic screening of embryos. She continues to be involved in research and is interested in embryo physiology, culture, and investigating techniques to determine the pre-conception reproductive competence of embryos.

Having grown up in central New Jersey, Dr. Werner is excited to be back at the Jersey Shore where she met her husband over 15 years ago. As a mother of two young children and a proud aunt of an RMA baby, she values the importance of family and is excited to help others during their reproductive years. “I have experienced both good and disappointing news with family as they pursued reproductive care and this has improved how I counsel patients.”

Dr. Werner believes the heart of reproductive medicine lies in the embryology laboratory and feels proud to be part of RMA’s center for excellence.
