With a degree in Chemical Sciences (University of Malaga), Miguel became a part of the team of embryologists at the Gutenberg Centre URE in 2001. Ten years later, Miguel received the title of Junior Embryologist granted by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). Since 2017, Miguel Lara Lara is Co-Direcotr of URE, together with his partner Dr. Claudio Álvarez.

He regularly collaborates in the development of articles, projects and scientific studies. He is a member of ASEBIR, the Spanish Fertility Society, the Spanish Association of Andrology and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

He is a member of the Spanish Fertility Society and specifically forms part of the Fertility Preservation Interest Group.
