This 1 hour seminar looks at the difference between legal parenthood and parental responsibility. This course covers:
- HFEA definition of legal parenthood
- Definition of parental responsibility
- Relevant consent prior to treatment to determine legal parents
- Ensuring lack of consent or withdrawal of consent is explained to patients
- Recommend legal advice for known donor, surrogacy and co-parenting.
After watching the seminar, attendees are asked to complete an evaluation in order to receive their certificate of attendance worth 1 CPD point.
This course is ideal for newly qualified nurses or experienced nurses who are new to fertility. This course is also useful for experienced nurses to highlight gaps in knowledge or for nurses who wish to progress to management or advanced practitioner level.
